This time I wanted to work on a pair of the Wild Wide Pants (affiliate link) for my daughter. I know this is considered a boy’s pattern, but someone was a little jealous after I made a pair for her brother and she just had to have one for herself. I helped test these pants and still love them.
The fabric I used is a bit left over after sewing up a strike for a fabric group. I love that I can use scraps for accent pieces and use something else for the main portion of the legs.
Hello everyone, my name is Maggie. I am a stay at home mom and have the sweetest, smart, fun (I’m sure all parents say that about their kids) 4 year old daughter. I absolutely love sewing for her. This is my first post for Ellie and Mac and I couldn’t be more excited.
It’s Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer. That means pools, beaches, BBQs and swimsuit season. I don’t know about you guys, but one of my favorite things to make for my daughter is swimsuits. There is something so magically amazing about the look on her face when she sees a new swimsuit. Maybe because she knows we are going to the pool, hahaha. But I’ll take it.
Hemming has to be my least favorite part of sewing. I would rather gather a waist than to hem the bottom. To sew a perfect hem, requires lots of time, which I currently don’t have a lot of.
As I was googling one night, I stumbled across a wide hem foot. I was a bridal seamstress previously, so I have experience with a narrow hem foot but I had never heard of a wide hem foot.
