Just what she wanted!

My oldest granddaughter was just asking for a straight skirt and there it was! Both granddaughters love them. Paired it with the Cami and It's great for summer wear!

Hacked It!

I think this skort is fast favorite! I added the kangaroo pocket from The Fly pants for a sporty look, plus a pocket is always an improvement.
I added elastic to the waistband because I didn't trust the knit to have a strong recovery. I cut 1/2 inch wide elastic to the length of the waistband. Zigzag setting to as wide as possible and pinned my elastic to the inside of the waistband next to the fold crease. Zigzagged it into place. Now, the waistband appears unchanged, but has improved recovery!
Now, I think I'll draft a doll version. :D

I doubled the seam allowance for better control while sewing. Otherwise, great pattern that seems to work well as a swim skirt!

Super super simple

I’ve used this pattern to make school skirts for my daughter. They went together really easily. I did add elastic to the waistband but that’s just down to personal preference

Love it

My granddaughter loves her new skort. We had to go up a size because it was tighter than we were comfortable with. We’ll use this pattern again and again.

Great pattern

it is such an easy sew. My little girl loves skirts and dresses so this is perfect for everyday. The shorts underneath helps a lot to keep everything covered when she's playing

Best "skort" ever

Perfect! My daughter loves to wear it. I made it in a lot of colors, like this she can wear them everyday. So nice when she plays in the sand or at the playground!

What a Great Pattern

My grand daughters love these little skorts. They love them since it is a skirt but the shorts underneath is the seller for them.

Madison Skirt

The waistband did not work for my granddaughter. I remade the waistband to make it narrower and added elastic. Then, I added the difference from the waistband to the garment. With those adjustments I like the pattern and have made it twice. Easy to make.

Very cute

I’ve May 3 of them so far for granddaughters. Have not tried the pencil skirt. The A-line one gives a little more room for a plane

Love this practical skort!!!

I instantly made two of the Madison skirt as my little girl loves to tumble and hop. Having the shorts underneath the pretty little skirt is so incredibly practical!! So easy to sew up, I'll be making a few more of these soon.
