How to add a side slit to the Paperbag Skirt

Hello, Ilse here from Sewsewilse!
Today I want to show you my calf length Paperbag Skirt with one side slit.

The moment the Paperbag Skirt released I knew I wanted one too! Browsing on the net I saw more highwaisted skirts but in calf or maxi length so that was my plan! And as the pattern released in summer I wanted to make a fall/winter skirt of it.

The Paperbag Skirt sits at the true waist and is so comfy to wear. The pattern itselfs includes mini, mid-tigh and knee length. It also features an elastic waist, slash style pockets and sash option.

Oh, and did I tell you I love the big pockets on it?!

This is what I did:

I used the lengthen/shorten line to add 16 cm/ 6.3” and narrowed the skirt from my hips to the hem because I wanted a straight skirt. Thereby I added a side slit at one side.

The Paperbag Skirt is designed for woven. I used a poly blend in plaid and if you look good you’ll see red stripes in it. That’s why I’m wearing my red boots <3

The Paperbag Skirt is for sizes XXS - 5XL. So ladies, choose your fabrics and let’s sew a beautiful skirt!
Let’s go!

Ilse
