Straight Fit Jogger Sewing Pattern

Every Ellie and Mac pattern I have purchased has been excellent. The size options, the instructions and the price. These straight fit joggers are no exception. I actually purchased them to make for myself (a definitely not straight fit, curvy lady) and even though I had to shorten the pattern a bit I do really love the fit.

I made 2 pairs for my 86 year old uncle. (Picture added) I specifically bought the pattern because my aunt was complaining that she couldn't find any in the shops that works for him and asked (aka insisted) if I would make him a pair. I ended up making 3. He didn't like the slight tapering of the legs on the first one That one went to my super skinny daughter in-law. I adjusted the leg width for the other two. I am super happy with the simplicity of the pattern and my aunt is impressed with the end result.(that says allot...she is very fussy) The only fabric I could find that he liked was a non-stretch tracksuit type material and although I was worried about the fit, it worked out just fine without any hassles. Sadly I don't have pictures, but my aunt says it looks good on him. She even bought yarn to knit sweaters to go with it. Next one will be for myself. All and all...great pattern.

Made a pair of the joggers for my son. They are the best fitting and most comfortable pair of joggers that he has owned. He has also received many enquiries where they can purchase them because they look so comfortable.
Pattern is so easy to follow and a you tube video is available if needed. Here's to my next make.

Loved making these so simple once I’d got my head around the adjustments I needed for height & crotch a very comfortable go to wardrobe piece with more planned ! Love them!

This is the first pattern I’ve ever purchased, and it was very easy to follow. The instructions were clear, including where/how to modify the fit—I did the “relaxed fit” version and adjusted the length. I made the joggers out of a stretch ripstop and they’re a great casual athletic pant.

This pattern was a dream to make, loved the tutorial.

I have made this up and very pleased with the way they turned out, I only have to make one adjustment and that is to increase the calf by about1/4" as the were a it

Déjà deux jogging faits

I have made this pattern 3 times. The first time I made it in a black polyester ITY Knit in small with no modifications. I made the drawstring version. I had an unexpected weight loss due to illness, so the small fit perfectly. The second pair was a beautiful double brush poly floral fabric I purchased from Olga’s Closet. For this one I cut a medium and adjusted the height as I am 5’4 and the pattern is for 5’5”. I just did an elastic waistband and they are super comfortable. Using the pattern tailored to my height I used a 2 way stretch fabric. It was a value fabric I purchased from Walmart. This was more of a trial pair and they came at very comfortable as well.

This pattern is perfect for a person like me who work from home. I have a plan to make many more even in shorts. Perfect pattern!

I made myself some Christmas pjs. My husband asked if I could make some with a band at the bottom because maybe he would like some Christmas pants too. I had bought this pattern a while back but never used it but knew it was perfect. I watched the video on fitting them and whipped up a pair. He absolutely loved them. He has since asked for more. He now has 4 pair and wears them everyday.

This pattern is just the best pattern I have ever found for joggers or Track pants as we call them in my country. The fit is great and they are the perfect pants for me. I will be using this pattern many times over.Thank you guys.

The sizing tips were great. These fit perfectly and are ridiculously comfortable. I really love the pockets too. I don't think I'll ever need another jogger pattern.

Sewed them for my son. I wish it was for taller people, as I had to do a lot of adjusting....he is 6 ft 5 in tall.

This was my first EM sew. The instructions and the pattern is great. The video sew-along helped a lot too. I love that there are three lines marked on the pattern for hight adjustment, that really helps to achive the perfect fit!

Love this pattern very quick and easy to sew up and very comfortable

I'm a beginner at sewing and tried to make these for my husband, but they ended up way too short, and then I had the clever idea to add to knee area...big mistake, he found extra seams around knees really irritating, so I cut them off and made shorts. So clock that up to experience. I did with serger 4 thread overlock and the seam was bulky.

I will try again though, and have ordered more fabric.

wanted a pattern that went to size 4x perfect for my "big" sized son and an easy make.

I very rarely find a sewing pattern that fits perfectly. If your kids tell the pants fit better than the store bought pants then you know!! My eldest son if fairly tall and I followed the instructions to lengthen the pants for a perfect fit, For my younger son I made the xs without any adjustments and it fitted perfectly. Made a few pairs for each of them and many more will follow!!

Made it with small adjustments for height, and voila! a great fitting pair of capris in one afternoon. I used lightweight stretch denim. Very comfortable.

I’m a newer sewist, and I made these joggers on my serger, except for the pockets, which I used my regular machine for. Very quick and easy sewand the instructional video was fabulous. I’ll definitely be making more of these.
