Sew It Forward Sock Sewing Pattern

These socks sew up really fast and have been great for Christmas gifts. I have found the family enjoy the super softness of rayon spandex (it has an excellent stretch). My son calls them his butter socks and opts for them over any other socks. So pleased with this pattern.

Worth watching a how to video, then you will find these easy to make. Nephew wanted to be 100% Auntie Jane clothed so was more than happy.

I'm loving this pattern! I've been making heaps of socks out of a beautiful merino/possum/silk fabric that I got for free as offcuts from a clothing shop. I added an inch of length to the band as it was a bit tight, otherwise great and easy to sew- can do a pair in 20 min!

So I was looking for something to cover my son’s cast when he broke my foot. I modified this (just to be slightly bigger) and it was perfect! Easy to make and fit well.

I’m a long distance hiker and I needed a pair of sleep socks to keep my feet warm and my sleeping bag clean. This pattern and some light weight fleece gave me a super light and comfy pair of socks for the trail. Wonderful!

Used up an old thermal top to make these as a “practice”. Now I know how to make them I can use some more funky fabrics! Still love them though despite not the colour choice I would choose as I made them (wow I am still in awe thank you Ellie and Mac you have really improved my life with your tutorials from Diana) and are useful for wearing with blue jeans!

Really Helpful as someone who had never sewn a sock before. Would recommend going up a size unless you have really stretchy fabric!

Great pattern, easy to custom fit and very comfortable.

I love this pattern; I have made so many socks from remnants from other projects that would normally be discarded. Any knit fabric with good stretch & recovery is good. Buy some knit fabric for under $10 yd in colours & designs to suit your wearer. Shirley

Well I never believed I would make socks but I did and they are brilliant.
Perfect for around the house and even bed socks and a great new use for those fabric scraps.

I made a pair for me and had to remove the top band as I have large ankles and they were too tight. Work well without the band and don't roll down. I then made a pair for my grandson from a scrap from the fabric I used for lyjamas for him. He loved them! And now he gets into his PJs and socks as soon as he gets home from school. I have had to make a pair to go with each set of PJs that I have made for him.

This is so cute but I have the hardest time getting the right cuff over my foot… maybe in a ribbed knit; I’ll try again. I did manage to scale it down for Kid

Easy and fun to make, sizing was initially a problem but sorted that and now having such fun.
