I used scrap quilting squares that were my experiments and it turned into a really cute picnic blanket for my grandaughter. Will absolutely make this again!

This pattern is well written with each step having up-close explanatory photos. It also comes with the pattern for the carry bag. The pattern explains fabric choices and also has a Sewing Glossary. The whole pattern sounds easy and I will be making it soon.
I haven't made it yet but the instructions seem easy to follow. A good beginner pattern.
I loved the idea of a picnic blanket which not only folded up inside itself but had handled. This way I can make it waterproof and in any colour I want.

Loved making this picnic blanket. Easy to follow instructions, quick enough to make. Takes longer if you want a bigger blanket due to the bulk. Quilted the top to the batting/wadding before sewing the waterproof fabric, as suggested by another crafter on here, to minimise holes and keep blanket waterproof. Made it for my student son who thought I’d bought it. Cheeky young man!
Easy project. I used an old fleece blanket instead of batting, it was very comfortable.
It was a fun and easy project.
We made this tote with a group of 4-H kids. They loved them. I did change the directions a little so it would be easier for the youth to understand.
I haven’t tried to sew up this blanket, but i have used a girl’s dress pattern from this company. It was easy to understand and turned out great!
