I love it, I'm a PLUS size, with big arms (and tummy/hips/derrière), and I hate wearing tank tops in Summer because I feel exposed, and this top, even if my arms are exposed, is so fun that it makes me feel more confident. I did make it a bit longer to cover my bum a bit better, and it just looks fantastic! I made a 2nd one a couple days later, and eyeing some fabric for perhaps a third one or a house dress... the dilemma, do I make another Lucy Swing Top or do I make something else from all your patterns? BIG decisions!!!
Lucy Swing Top Pattern
I thought this was simple to make and a nice way to practice hemming. I do wish it was a little longer but that is easy to adjust on your own.
Absolutely adore this pattern. My first ever foray into the world of sewing. Found it an absolute winner for a beginner (pardon the rhythm) so easy to follow. So easy to complete. If you buy just one pattern, make it this one and I promise you it will not be the last one you buy from E&M.
This by far is my favorite!!!!! I used fold over elastic to finish the arms, neckline and hem. Love the quick sew
I tried this pattern with a little bit of fabric that my daughter bought, I wanted to practice with my new serger. It was fast, easy, turned out great, and she loved it! It was a bit short for my taste, 53 year old mom, but perfectly lovely and fashionable for my 27 year old daughter! I’ll make this pattern again for her.
I can not say enough about this 1 piece front and back pattern. So easy and yup its my new favorite summer top.
I made a couple of these for myself (2X) and for my daughter (4X). I love the flow and how comfortable it is on hot days. The arms were a little tricky, but found it worked best if I hemmed the armholes before sewing the sides. I can see where you can go a size down with this top. Another change I made was to make it longer to cover the tummy better for us plus sized women. But, it is an easy and quick project.
