New experience to a “seasoned” sewer.

BRILLIANT PROCESS………Was just challenged by limiting technology but once I was able to access a laptop and a printer I was really impressed with the process and will use it again! Excellent instructions throughout!!

Instructions for the Sash are NOT clear

Because all of the ratings were so positive, I feel compelled to write and state I found the instructions for sewing/placing the sash "as clear as mud". I have been sewing a lot for over 50 years and I studied and studied the pictures both in the instructions and the testers photos trying to determine whether the sash, after sewing to the bottom of the bodice should be turned down to make the bodice longer, or as perhaps might be a logical reason for folding it in half lengthwise, left up and edge stitched to the bodice. I could not determine what should be done from the photos in the instructions and, 'guesstimating' from tester photos placement, it looked like some folded it down and others topstitched in place. The problem for me with topstitching it over the lower bodice was that the sash front then overlapped the armsyce. I was making a size 3-6 months so perhaps the sash should have been narrower for that size. I eventually chose to turn the sash down, lengthening the bodice. I am still not sure, however, what the designer intended. I did check the instructions for the back sash but lengthened the back bodice to match the length of my version of the front bodice. Her mother and I could not imagine that it would be comfortable for a two month old to lay on a big bow since she is still at the 'back is best' stage.

Cuteness overload

The Playdate dress is such a cute dress. I loved that it uses small pieces of fabric so I can use up my fabric scraps. It is so cute and easy to put together.

Perfect for a day of playing

I bought the play date dress because it was adorable. I don't have any girls so I sewed it up for our stuffie. As a beginner I picked upon a new skill - gathering. It was a bit challenging at first but so rewarding when I completed the project. It's such a darling dress and easy enough for a newbie like me. As always E&M has super clear instructions and a video tutorial to help you along.
