My 4yo granddaughter wants to be a cheerleader for Halloween. This is the perfect skirt pattern and oh so easy!!! I see many more of these skirts being made!
I used this skirt pattern as part of a Halloween costume for my granddaughter. It was easy to sew, great tutorial and it came out perfect! I plan to make her some skirts for school!

Jersey fabrics do not pleat well, so I used a plaid woven cotton for the skirt with a ribbed jersey waistband, producing a crisper finish.

Such an easy pattern to follow. I made the skirt a little longer than the pattern, as that is what my granddaughter wanted, and added the shorts. The instructions were easy to follow. The skirt made up quite quickly which surprised me and I was very pleased with the results. I liked the fact that the pattern allowed for different shapes as my granddaughter tends to have a larger waist. It fitted her perfectly and she was so pleased with it.
It was an easy sew. It was a big hit with my 13-year-old grand!

Have made 3 of these. It was worth watching the video on creating the pleats as it took some practice before I got it right! Once mastered though, it was a lovely swingy skirt for a little girl.
Making this skirt was so easy and simple. But the outcome is so classy, looks to me like a kilt when made in plaids. The little girl loved it, liked that it twirled. Will be making many more
