This PDF sewing pattern comes in sizes 12 months up to big kid 18 in our regular sizing and 4E - 18E in our extended size chart.
Pick your size by hip measurement and use this size for the waistband as well.
Advised Waistband Elastic Width: 3/4" elastic for sizes 12m - 3t and 1" - 1 1/2" elastic for sizes 4t and up.
To determine the length of the pants use the height size (for crotch depth etc) and look at inseam measurements on the pants pattern piece for the length of the legs. The straight fit should hit right under the ankle after it's being hemmed and the flared on heel length.
Fabric Recommendation:
This pattern is most successful when a sturdy knit fabric with a minimum of 25% horizontal stretch is used. For example jacquard, Ponte, scuba. Stretch woven fabric like stretch denim, stretch cotton and stretch corduroy with a minimum amount of 25% horizontal stretch can be used as well for sizes 5 - 18 (for sizes 12/18 months - 4t a stretch knit is advised for comfort).

My kids are loving the "extra" flared option and ask for it all the time. Great sew with easy instructions. Happy knowing that when my kids have had enough of flares there is a straight option too.
My kids didn't like the faux fly part since we used such busy prints. So we omitted that part!
I really loved how easy it was to put these pants together. I made the straight pants. The extended size range is amazing! I could make a straight size in stead of doing alterations on the waist. And the end result fits like a glove. I highly recommend this pattern.
Love the extra sizing and age range this pattern covers. Level up a basic trouser with the slight flare on the straight leg version. Will be used alot.... need an adult version !
Used the flared pattern to make bottoms for a Halloween costume (Fred from Scooby doo!). Took a little time to get the printed pattern pieces all sorted out but, was easy enough to do and they turned out wonderfully! Fit based on measurements was spot on. Instructions were easy to follow, even with a somewhat tricky fabric choice.

I made two straight pairs for my son. I adjusted the pattern the second time: made it more slim fit and enlarged the backpockets. I made one pair with flare for my daughter and it was perfect.

Ik heb twee broeken voor mijn zoon gemaakt. De tweede maal heb ik het patroon aangepast: wat smaller gemaakt en een grotere achterzak (voor een stoerder look). Ik heb een broek met flare pijpen voor mijn dochter gemaakt en het was perfect.

The basic flare I felt was too much. It was more like a bell bottom. I took a couple inches off and they were still more flared than I would have liked. Next time I’ll take a bit more off the flare. Overall though, they are cute and easy to put together.

I made 2 pairs of flares for my sons for their Halloween costumes. They were easy to make and cut the boys wells
These turned out super cute. I made a size 6 straight leg. I used a high-loop French terry for the legs, cotton spandex waffle for back yoke, rib knit for pockets. These look a bit on the slim side.
My toddlers are still in diapers so the crotch to waist ratio was off. Too new of a grandma sewist to really understand how to adjust patterns. But if they didn't wear diapers, this would be a perfect fit! Super super easy to follow the directions to at least sew the pattern correctly the first time even if the fit wasnt perfect. Absolutely love this company and love following the you tube sewalongs! Thank you!

I have avoided making pants for my kids for a long time, but finally gave in because my daughter is 11 years old, but usually measures as a 12-14 year old in height, but an 8 year old in waist size, making it incredibly hard to find ready to wear pants that fit her. I made two pairs of these and they fit so nicely that I am now hooked! They are as nice looking as a pair of jeans, but nice and easy to sew, and they fit beautifully! I did end up making the flare a little less prominent, but I really love this pattern!
Thought they would be hard to sew but a really easy pattern. Love the tutorials that go along with patterns. Made 2 pair and will make more. One woven and one a stretch fabric both fit great. Granddaughter loves them.
My 10 year old granddaughter made the flared pants for a 4-H project. They turned out great, fit perfect and best of all she loves them. She made them from black faux suede.
