Kids Be Independent Dress, Skirt & Shorties Sewing Pattern

I’ve had this pattern for a few years before actually making it. I don’t know why I didn’t try it sooner. It is so easy to put together that I have made 2 now and plan on making more. My granddaughters love the large front pocket. I would definitely recommend this pattern.

Great easy sew, and the pocket is absolutely huge!!! Very popular with my 3 year old, who can fill it with all her favourite things! Also handy for using up scraps in toddlers sizes.

Wow - what a gorgeous & easy little dress to put together! I have made this for a few of my friends who have little girls & they ALL loved the pockets!!! Instructions are super easy & it was a dream to sew up! Definitely a staple in my arsenal of sewing patterns!

So easy to sew, and lovely deep pocket perfect for my little girl (8). Made one for her birthday and sizing was spot on. Used all one material this time, but love the option of using different materials for pocket and sleeves to really showcase a special material or use up smaller bits when don’t have enough for a whole dress.

When you are 5, pockets are everything! The giant pocket made my girlie soooo happy! I liked that it was a quick sew.

I made this dress for my eight year old niece. I had offered to make her a dress, and she wanted leopard print but I only had half a metre. With this pattern, I could really showcase the leopard print on the pocket, sleeves and neckband and also make her some leopard print pants. The main dress was a co-ordinating striped fabric which she chose and I made her some striped shorts to go with it! This dress is fabulous when you need to show off a limited fabric - and BIG POCKET! My niece absolutely loves it!

This looks complicated but it comes together quickly and is a fun sew. Also, used E&M legging pattern to make some shorts to wear underneath. Love the big pocket!

I bought this pattern to make my niece a cute summer dress. I'm so happy with how it turned out, even for my first garment made in years! Instructions were easy yo follow and the pattern printed on A4 paper was easy to piece together.
My only critique is the skirt and dress pockets aren't labelled.

Je voulais faire cette robe depuis un moment et j’ai enfin pris le temps de la faire. Le résultat est à la hauteur de mes attentes, si ce n’est que je me suis trompée, j’ai coupé la poche pour la jupe au lieu de celle pour la robe. Ce serait génial de mieux identifier les pièces du patron pour éviter la confusion.

Cute dress, quick sew. I wasn't a big fan of the giant pocket. The openings are on the small side and most little girls cannot reach the bottom of the pocket. I also made matching shorts for underneath and they were easy and quick.

Was a pleasure to sew.

Had this pattern for months, but didn't get around to sewing it until my 6 yr old claimed an adult panel with large graphic. She's skinny, and putting the graphic on a bodice would have required cutting off portions of the picture. Be Independent pocket works perfectly!

It was a really good pattern and easy to follow instructions however there was the pocket rib piece that there was two of and it didn’t have switch piece goes to what one otherwise very good pattern
