Such an easy and stylish pattern. Went together pretty quick and works great in bamboo lycra. The hubs is a fan and it's great to make matching fits with the kids version.
I made the shorts with a stretchy bamboo so they are cooling and comfortable to wear. I added exterior pockets because I messed up with the seam pockets and couldn’t use them anymore. I found the legs to be quite baggy. Maybe that was because of the fabric I used. I like the image on the package with a more structured fabric. So I took them in from the inside leg but only sewed up about 3” - not all the way to the crotch.
I made these for my eldest son for Christmas. They came together really quickly and looked great with the shaped contrast section. The worst bit for me was sewing the waist elastic - got it a bit uneven. However, my son said they fit great and are very comfortable. I think I’ll be making more and hopefully will get the waist elastic better next time.

I bought this pattern on a weekly sale so it was more than the usual bargin. I've so far made one pair of shorts for my husband but they are for a surprise birthday present to be used as lounge wear so he hasn't received them yet.
The pattern itself is just like all the other Ellie & Mac patterns. Amazing. Super simple instructions and great range of sizes. The finished products always look so good too. I can't wait to surprise my husband with his new pajamas so I can hopefully make him more.

I made the Active Shorts for my daughter (tomboy) with a matching colour block tee border on the shorts - she loves it! So easy to make and the fit is great.
I’ve made these shorts 6 times now for my youngest son in the 2xl size - we measured him and the first pair I made was made “to his measurements” they were like a skirt on him - really far too big to wear !! - we adjusted and recut the pattern he now has 2 pairs just plain black and 3 pairs with a red contrast on them - I’m a beginner dressmaker and the pattern was really easy to follow & really clear - I’d highly recommend to anyone but please be aware that they come out really oversized !!
I made thesr for my grandson. He loves them. The pockets are great for phone and wallet.
This pattern is so easy and awesome to sew. The pockets are HUGE!. The color blocking came out great. The only improvement I will make for next time (yes! He wants another pair!) is adding a drawstring in addition to the elastic. The pockets fit so much that it pulls the shorts down. :-).
I loved how these shorts turned out. I made them for my husband and they fit really well. The colorblock was perfect for a panel!

The legs are a bit too wide for my son so I would recommend checking the fit on your "male model" to make sure the legs are a comfy size.

This pattern was so simple to make up. Quick to come together even with slippery sport fabric. Look effective with the two tone design and curved seam. Made for my son for Christmas and he loved them.

Made this pattern for my Mister. He’s fussy with shorts, doesn’t like it too fitting, prefers larger leg holes and this is just perfect for him!! He has even requested for more, in slightly shorter lengths! Definitely a go-to pattern for a casual shorts/berms and it’s so easy to sew! Love it!
