Très déçue par ce modèle qui est mal taillé. J'ai été obligée de couper 2 tailles au-dessus pour avoir un résultat un peu mitigé à cause de l'encolure qui est trop large.
Je joins 2 photos :
La 1ère montre l'étroitesse des épaules, manches trop courtes et trop près du corps pour un sweat.
La 2ème montre un bon résultat dans l'ensemble sauf l'encolure qui est beaucoup trop large.
Dommage c'est un modèle très original.
Ce qui serait super, ce serait de revoir les mesures de ce patron et d'en proposer un bien taillé !

I wanted to share a little more about the design intent for the Around the Block Hoodie. Unlike a traditional boxy sweatshirt, this pattern is a contoured design meant to follow the lines of the body for a more tailored look. Because it is form-fitting, it is strictly designed for fabric with at least 50% 4-way stretch.
Looking at your results, it sounds like a 'stretch' mismatch may have happened. If the fabric has less than the required 50% stretch, the sleeves and shoulders will feel very restrictive and tight. When you sized up to compensate for that tightness, it unfortunately caused the neckline to become too wide for your frame, as that larger size is drafted for a broader shoulder.
I also recommend double-checking your printing scale square to ensure it's exactly 1' or 4cm, as even a tiny shift can affect a fitted garment like this!

I started sewing myself clothes just under 2 years ago and I sew almost exclusively Ellie & Mac patterns. The patterns have clear instructions and also usually a you tube tutorial If needed. This was my first time making clothing with so many pieces but it went together easily. It's not a firm favourite of mine and I'll definitely be making more soon.
Absolutely love the pattern but I feel like it runs small. Made on for my granddaughter based on her measurements but it was too small. One I made for my grandson was also too small so I made another and had to go up 2 sizes. Pattern is beautiful though.

Maybe it's because I am also a quilter, but I think this was the most fun garment pattern I have ever made. I really enjoyed making this. It is super-cute all worked up too. I did not understand the need for the "patch" on the outside for the grommet openings, so I put the "patch" on the inside using Stitch Witchery and got a great result with that.
At first, when I saw this pattern I was confused by all the parts, but I love a challenge and once I cut the patterns out it all came together and everyone loved my makes. thank you.

I’ve made two of these, one as a hoodie for a friend, and one for myself with a neckband. Assembly was quick and the instructions are great as always.

Great fitting hoodie easy to make. Pay attention to the pattern pieces and size down for a more fitted hoodie. The first one I made is bigger than I want it to be, but the pattern is easy enough to follow that I’ll be making another in a smaller size!
