Adult Be Graceful Dress Sewing Pattern

I absolutely love this dress I made 5 in different colours all with short sleeves.i have just bought two more Ellie and Mac patterns ,they are so easy to make love them.

The pattern is so easy to understand and to follow. I made 2 and I think it won't be the last time.

I made up my first Be Graceful last night and wore it today. It went together easily and I graded between sizes according to my measurements. The finished dress fit perfectly. I love the shape of the pockets! They are pointed vs rounded and fit my phone without it trying to fall out. While sitting my phone stayed right next to my leg! That pattern piece will stay out on my cutting table for frequent use!!! I felt great in my new poly rib knit dress and I will be making more!

I enjoyed this pattern! I ended up altering the skirt to be a bit more full, but the neckline, pocket size, and sleeves are perfect!

I found this dress pattern when it had been discounted to a mere $1 or around 70p in the uk. Had the pdf printed in just my size at a copy shop. Bought the fabric from ebay for £10. Very simple pieces to cut out, the neck was fiddly but I used a LOT of pins, the waistband was also fiddly but I accidentally took my gathering stitch line out too early, my own fault. So pleased with the end result. I used a two way stretch polyester Jersey which has a silky feel, hangs really nicely. I may just shorten it as although I love maxi's, it's not really practical for me to wear. Fab pattern, thank you.

Lovely dress, very easy to put together, sizes are good as I was very dubious about measuring up to a xl when I wear a m/l. Will be making more that's for sure

I made this and it was my first dress in many many years. It fit perfectly and I loved the fabric. It got over 1800 comments! So others liked it too!

I just made the original short version of this dress without much change (I did cut the skirt wider for more gathers...), and It was easy enough to make. I understood why I should leave the gathering stitch to make the casing so that the fabric would not slip and escape. I did only one line of gathering stitch and the skirt fabric got a little too "unstable." It was a little tricky to make the casing. Next time I would do two lines of gathering stitch.

I think this pattern is open to tweaking. I didn't like the scoop neck of this dress on me, so I will try boat neck next time (I will hack from the over-sized tee). I am also thinking about playing around with the sleeves like adding short sleeve flounce...? or make the long sleeves into bishop sleeves...? Lots of possibilities!

I didn't think it was really my shape but putting a belt on made a huge difference as I don't have a true waistline.

This was just what I was looking for. Comfortable actual waist & simple to follow.

Admittedly I printed the pattern too small, however I am obsessed with this pattern! I LOVE IT! And have already made 4!

A lovely dress that is so simple to sew. Very clear instructions. I have made a maxi version for myself and my teenage daughters have asked for one each too! A great design for all body types and ages!

I love this pattern. The directions were easy to follow and it didn’t take long to complete. It fits perfect, with making adjustments, using the measurements as listed on the pattern. It’s so comfortable and I will be making more.

Extremely well written pattern that's a breeze to follow. I made three different dresses.

At midi length with 3/4 sleeves it's easy and very practical to wear while still being cozy enough for fall.

I've taken off a star because the finished product was not a perfect fit for my modestly generous bust. Once made up and worn, It doesn't seem quite long enough in the front despite my following the measurements and sizing chart closely, and I don't generally have to work hard for my clothes to fit my chest--the dress tends to ride up and fit more like a baby doll/borderline maternity wear than I think is intended. I still like it, but I'll need to fiddle around with extending the bodice to make it work better. A 1/4" elastic was more flattering on me than the 1/2", and seemed to reduce the unwanted effect. Still, the instructions are crystal clear, the dress is easy to make, and I'll try it again.

This is such a dream to put together . So easy to sew and comfortable to wear . Ellie and Mac patterns are a dream to put together and sew .

This is the first Ellie and Mac garment I made, though I have plenty other E & M patterns waiting to be made. The directions were extremely easy to follow. I made the maxi with short sleeves and it is lovely. I was worried it would be too snug around based on all measurements, so I cut it a bit larger. It looks fine, but I will make another, knee length, and will trust the pattern sizing next time. The cut of this garment is so flattering in the bodice, waist and hips.
