This pattern looked so promising. I'm not a beginner and followed the instruction exactly. The top looks great when the twist has been carefully positioned to appear as it does in the pictures, but as you move around and you know, live in it, the twist moves too exposing raw edges and looking messy.

Made the Twist it Up without the twist. Simply cut it straight and added a band. Totally different look! The dolman sleeve on this is awesome! Super easy sew too.
So the twist did give me some trouble, but I think I got it in the end 😂... The rest went together like a dream
I love this top! I also love how roomy it is and the length. My shorts in the picture or 5” and the back is almost covered completely. This would be a good top to wear with leggings as well. I used a cupro Pique Jersey from Surge Fabrics. I’m also so glad that there is a video to go along with this since I can really confuse myself despite the illustrated directions. I also used the side tie hack on your blog. Thank you for all the videos!
I’ve made two of these for me. I had a bit of confusion about the twist construction but watched Diane’s video and that helped. It’s a great benefit to have these videos for supporting use of your patterns!
I've made a couple of Twist It Up tops for myself and love them - one with short sleeves and one with long. I then made one with the Twist at waist level for my daughter! I found the pattern instructions easy to follow and watched the YouTube clip closely to get it right!

Quick and easy sew! Love the simple twist knot that gives a huge effect. Very easy to follow directions and very quick to sew from beginning to end ! I need 100 more of these shirts !
The only reason I gave this four and not 5 is because my know will not stay flipped inside. I had to give it a few extra stitches. ..it could be user error..

As a mom of three this top is so perfect! It hides the mum tummy a bit and can be dressed up a bit too. I feel so beautiful and put together but it still has the comfort of a tshirt!!! So perfect!!
The instructions were very clear and it was easy to follow. The twist was tricky to manage to get the look without hand sewing/tacking after completing the steps. I'm still a fan of Ellie and Mac, but this pattern may just need a little change to the twist design.
