Top 5 Beginner Friendly Sewing Patterns - Part 1: The Everyday Tee

Hi friends, this is Diana here and today we're not really sewing. I am talking about my top favorite tops from Ellie and Mac. These are the easiest, trendiest, cutest tops you can sew and they are super, super quick. So let me show you what they are.

Everyday Tee

I have to start this blog series with the Everyday Tee Pattern. This is the top that I'm wearing in this video. This pattern includes two versions. You will receive the Fitted version and the Loose Fit version. It features hi-low curved hemline.

It is one of the simplest patterns to sew. The really cool thing is that it's a Dolman style top, which means that when you cut the pattern, your sleeve is already on there so you don't have to attach sleeves. All you have to do is sew up the back, the shoulders, the sides, attach the neckband and hem.

Fabric Recommendation

This pattern is most successful when 50%, 4-way stretch knit fabrics with good recovery are used. If the fabric has much more than 50% stretch, the garment may fit looser and appear less structured. If much less stretch, then the garment will fit tighter and will not drape as well. Fabric options include, but are not limited to: Rayon Spandex, Cotton Lycra, Brushed Polyester, Modal Slub Jersey, and 4 way Stretch Velvets.

I will insert the Sew Along Video and I will also add a link to our Hemming Techniques Video (in case you are a bit scared about the curved hemline).
