The Pack Your Bag Backpack Sewing Pattern is a great scrap fabric buster project and is the
perfect way to tote around all of your things. It is easy to sew, even for beginners, and makes a great gift!
This cute backpack features a front pocket, adjustable back straps for kids and adults and is available in sizes small, medium, and large.
A 7" zippered pocket is optional for the interior and/or backside of the medium and large bag. The instructions also include a bonus blog tutorial on how to add a pocket without a zipper to the interior of your backpack!

Sizes:
This PDF sewing pattern comes in three sizes:
- Small
- Medium
- Large
Fabric Recommendation:
This Backpack is designed to be made using medium to heavy weight woven fabrics for the Main Pieces, medium weight woven fabric for the Lining Pieces.
Interfacing:
- Mid Weight Fusible Interfacing for Main Pieces and Straps
- Optional Firm Fusible Interfacing for Bottom
Hardware:
- Magnet Closure or Snap Set (1)

25-30mm D-rings (2) and 25-30mm Rectangle Slider (2) or 25-30mm D-rings (4)
(If using Webbing for the straps, make sure that your hardware is the same size or larger than the Webbing. Strap pattern pieces are for 30mm hardware.)

I loved making this bag. I made it for my grand daughter to take and leave in nursery to keep her spare clothes in. Every one that’s seen it loves it.
Pack Your Bag Backpack Sewing Pattern
This is the first time I've made any bag other than a simple drawstring bag.
Being able to print the pattern A4 and stick together was really helpful. The instructions were perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed making it. The hardest part was sourcing all the hardware.
I will definitely purchase more patterns from you.

I made this bag in a size small - it is so dang cute! I wanted to use up some samples of upholstery fabric I got in a mystery box and this pattern was perfect for it. I can’t wait to make bigger ones as my new work bag.
A wonderful pattern. Easy to follow and easy to adapt if you wish. I usually dread putting pdf file pages together but this one fitted together perfectly. Plus the three sizes are spot on.
I have tried two of the sizes. Large and small. They were both fun and not too complicated to make. But when I have used the large one it snaps back up and the sides pops in a way that the flap doesent cover it. Trying to find out how so solve it. Also. The magnet buttons i chose where not that strong. Maybe bc I chose sew-on buttons. 🤔
This pattern is so easy to follow, and makes a fabulous bag! It’s great for beginners, and a fun sew.
