Connie Casual Shacket Sewing Pattern

Shacket no 2 made in Boucle, mid length, I didn't add the breast pockets and left off the cuffs. I absolutely love it 💞

I absolutely loved making this in Denim with accents and bindin from a 0.6m remnant of lovely Higgs and Higgs striped linen.

I was inspired by the binding shown in the additional content about using thick fabric for the Shacket. Binding the seams with contract bias bindin and the neat topstitching that showed through to the outside, really elevated me Shacket into something special.

I struggled a bit with fitting the sleeve and it's placket into the cuff but resolved it with a small tuck.

Glad I made a toile first - changed my mind from long length (looked smocklike on me! - I'm short) to the short length and had to shorten and widen the sleeves - easy to do on the toile.

Will be fabric hunting to make more!

Great pattern. Made in fleece and followed the thick fabric adaptions. Surprisingly went together really well and have had loads of compliments.

Love this shirt, I don't often sew with wovens but the instructions were very easy to follow and I produced a professional looking garment. I added my own flair with colour blocking on the back piece. Buttons have been added after the photo was taken.

I’ve seen these in stores but could never find one that I liked. I was happy when the Connie Casual Shacket came out. I found the perfect fabric and made my first one. There are definitely more to come. Thanks for a great pattern 😊

So much so that I have made two already.
One in cosy fleece fabric and the other in a Polyester rib.

I love the Connie Shacket. Don’t be afraid of more complex patterns. Diana’s tutorial makes it easy and a satisfying sew.

Perfect beginner shacket, first type of coat i have made using wool outer and faux fur inside, my daughter absolutely loves this style of a shacket, long length with lower rounded backside shows off the fur, and rounded front, I've only been sewing a year but found this easy to follow using Diana's YouTube tutorial. Thank you Diana for your guidance

Great pattern! I sized down as I did not want it to be oversized. It turned out perfectly.

Very straight forward and easy to follow. the only thing I had trouble with was the cuffs and buttons. But loved the final fit and style!

I love this pattern! I sewed it in a wool blend and another in denim. The fit is perfect; I can fit a sweater on underneath but it’s not too loose either. The cuff plackets are a really nice feature and the instructions are so easy to follow. The length options are perfect and I have 2 different lengths already, and want to see a short version when warmer weather comes. I’m very happy with it 🌸

have made this more then once. Both times have removed the pockets as depending on fabric they seem bulky, plus only for decorative purpose. Think l would prefer options for side pockets. Thing that annoys me the most is the cuffs. , the pointed ends and over lap are always getting in the way. Think the basic straight cuff more suitable for both straight and curved pattern. When cutting out the interfacings out, no mention of addition strips need to be cut out till you start pattern. If you are anything like me, you like everything cut out ready to get started. Not a major job, but more annoying, so now l cut strips out of interfacing while cutting out all interfacings. Overall a lovely easy, well explained pattern, but sleeve openings are tricky on thicker fabric.

Love this made aunt one

This looked overwhelming when I started but the directions were simple with great visuals. I used the youtube video to understand the placket on the cuff and it turned out fantastic! Highly recommend.

I love the pattern . It sews up fast. Only thing left is the buttons they scare me but will finish it and know I will make another.

I wasn't sure I could complete this pattern. I am use to knits. Dianna's video helped me so much. Although, I still haven't put the buttons on. I have never done that. I really would have liked an option for a zipper instead of buttons. I have arthritis in my hands and it is easier for me

I have purchased and sewn another Shacket pattern, but this one has much more detailed instructions with amazing photos that are easy to follow and understand. This is nice my go-to for more Shacket or even just casual shirts!! Thanks so much Ellie &Mac!!

I couldnt wait to get this pattern when it came out. I usually make an XL or Large in the other patterns but for this one I made an XL and it was way too big. So I made a large and was still too big. I skipped a medium and went straight to a small because I like my shirts more fitted. I made a mockup in small and it fits me perfect and I love it! I would highly suggest this pattern. It takes a little more time to make it but it is sooooo worth it when you see the finished shirt.
