Made this tunic in cotton spandex and it is so much fun with the swingy skirt portion. I found it very fitted and would make the FBA next time (I’m a D cup), but otherwise I would definitely recommend!

I made this dress for a wedding and also a matching one for the toddler. Very easy to follow. This dress was in Viscose Elastane Jersey.
I have made three of these so far and I have another two waiting to be sewn. My second one is the tunic version. This is the easiest throw on, every day dress/tunic EVER! I used a viscose/lycra stretch fabric for this one. 30 minutes including the cutting. LOVE IT!
Made the kids version for my granddaughter and liked it so much I bought the adult pattern for me. I don't wear dresses anymore but love how the tunic length turned out. Easy sew and so comfortable!
I absolutely live the sweetie pie tunic pattern! The scoop of the neck is low enough to be flattering but not reveal too much. The fit was spot on! I am 5' 8" and I did not have to lengthen the pattern for the tunic. I've made 2 already, a short sleeve in a cute summer print, and a 3/4 length sleeve in a fall print. I'll be making more of these!
My first Ellie and Mac sewing pattern and now I am hooked! Easy instructions to follow and beautiful dress. I did make mistakes but I'm a complete beginner....I've now bought an overlocker to make things easier for me.
I made the sweetie pie recently, but I hacked it slightly and used the raglan sleeves and neckline from the going home sweater, plus I added the inseam pockets from the puff-sleeve peplum dress as I'm not a big fan of patch pockets on dresses.
What can I say, It's another lovely and easy to follow pattern from Ellie & Mac and depending on your choice of fabric can be an every day dress or something a bit more special.
I particularly love the easy to follow instructions and the many sew along tutorials on you tube for E&M patterns - they make life so much easier!

I made a Sweetie Pie trial run but my eight month is just too little still. The dress is so so cute. Can’t wait until she gets a bit bigger and the pattern fits her better. It is extremely quick to cut and sew. It’s basically just two pieces to sew together plus a neckband and hem. So simple but has a beautiful twirl effect with the extra material draped at the sides.
