Adult Chapman Cardigan Sewing Pattern

Made for my mum she loves it very easy to sew

Lovely pattern straightforward to follow good on size I made the XL as a gift.

The Chapman Cardigan is an easy sew and is so comfortable. Although I live in Florida, we do get chilly weather, and most stores and restaurants are cold. This is perfect.

I have made two chapman cardigans and will make many more. My 2nd one (grey) is made with a waffle fabric which isn’t too stretchy. The pattern and instructions are great and found it straight forward to make. I used my overlocker to sew it which made it quick and easy.

One of the first patterns I followed. Very easy and fast!

This cardigan was soo comfy to wear while in the hospital and around home recovering, yet I can dress it up for the office too. A great versatile garment. Great instructions as always. I used rib knit and sized down from L to M for fit preference.

I was afraid to make it but it was actually so easy to put together. This is my new staple for work!

I made this cardigan in an oversize animal print sweater knit. It sewed up in less than an hour and fits wonderfully. I absolutely love it. My boyfriend said “I think this is the best thing you’ve made so far”. I see more in my future

So good I have made 2 Chapman cardigans. Pattern is easy to follow and I love the pockets. Size seems accurate. Would definitely recommend

I made one for me first and loved it. My girls wanted one also. I did make two revisions to the other ones. Instead of an outside pocket, I put the pocket on the inside with an outside welt. I also preferred the outer band to go all the way down the front, putting the seam on the bottom instead of the front. I shortened the bottom band and added length to the front band. I made two more and plan on making more.

I made the Chapman Cardigan in size XL in contrasting shades of blue knit and it turned out great. I did add about two inches to the front/back so that after the bottom band area is sewn on, it was long enough to cover my backside. The contrasting bands add a nice touch and make it easy to color block.
