Brilliant! Hacked to create PJ shorts

Thank you so much Ellie and Mac yet again providing an amazing pattern! I am so grateful at how much confidence you have given me in sewing. And I didn’t even know what a hack or a stretch stitch was until I watched your videos! I made these shorts to match a PJ top I had (using material from an old dress that I unpicked). I cut the pattern to the short length I wanted, a little longer just in case. I will probably hem them to finish them off or maybe just go for it and wear raw…I will try on again then decide. Thanks again, Zoe

Oh so comfy trousers

A very quick and easy make especially for beginners to making trousers as there is no outside seams to sew on the legs.

To help shape it to me I added a couple of darts in the back, along with a couple of pleats at the waistband in the front. To ensure that the waistband sat right I tacked it on first using a contrasting thread, then tried it on. Once happy with the fit I then stiched it into place.

I made these trousers with Valentino Crepe which was a dream to sew on the sewing machine as I don't have an overlocker. Now on the look out for fabric to use for my next pair.

Easy Build, Very Comfy

This was the first pattern I've made from Ellie and Mac and I'm so glad I bought it. They were a very quick sew and super comfortable and cute. I used a lightweight bamboo knit and they're a bit see through, but perfect for loungewear. I will probably make them again out of something a bit heavier like a Ponte so I can wear them out of the house!

Easy sew

I made these in a jersey knit. They fit perfect and very comfortable but because of my height I found them a bit to wide. I may size down and grade them next time or use a different fabric type. Definitely something I will make again.

Quick, easy, and great looking

I made the wide leg version without the ruffle twice and they practically fell together it was so easy! I added patch pockets for my 8 YO, and that took as long as putting the rest of the pants together, it was so quick. This is definitely going to become a wardrobe staple.

THE Pants Pattern to Have!

These pants are perfect! I love this pattern so much. It’s quick and easy; not many pattern pieces either. I love the ruffle at the bottom of the leg and fitted through the thighs and hips giving the bellbottom look. These are perfect for lounging and for dressing up as well. I wear them to work under a business casual dress code. So good!

So cute and comfy!

These pants are the best. Who said ruffles are just for kids?! The pattern was easy to follow and the instructions for construction were clear and simple. I’ll be making a dozen more pairs!

Not so basic pants

Really quick and easy sew 🙌🏼🙌🏼. Great fit and easy to shorten the length too. Made as part of a lounge suit, so comfy.

So comfy!

I made a pair of these trousers in a black French terry. I used Maraflex thread so I could use a straight stitch. The trousers came together really quickly and turned out cosy and comfy. Perfect for lounging at home but they also look nice enough you can wear them out and about.

No side seam pants

I wanted sleep pants that did not have a side seam and elastic, so I sewed two pair of the not-so-basic pants — straight leg and no ruffle. They are a quick sew, fit perfectly and are super comfortable! I plan to make several more for daytime wear this fall. Thanks, Ellie and Mac!

Slightly addicted to making thes

I made my first pair of not so basic pants last week, and I'm now on the fourth pair. So easy, quick and simple. I've made a smart pair in scuba, another in a structured jersey, and 2 pairs to use as lounge pants. I prefer the wide leg palazzo style, which is incredibly quick and simple to sew. I watched Diana's video on them, and the one where she uses this pattern to make a lounging set whcih gave me the inspiration to use them as pyjamas. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommended

Quick and easy

I did the wide leg version without ruffles as a lounge pant to go with a matching Fall in Love top. The pants went together quickly and fit well, but the style was not best for me - I have short legs and the proportion was off. These would be great on a taller person.

Definitely not basic!

I love these!! I've been making lounge pants out of this pattern and I am totally obsessed! I may throw away all my old ones and just make all new ones with these options. I do a wide leg and a straight leg. I paired it with the over sized t-shirt pattern for an entire lounge outfit. They're perfect.

Great sizing

It is always nice to have the fitting issues of pants addressed in the instructions. Thank you too for the inclusive sizing! :) And they really aren't as full as it seems when you look at that W-I-D-E leg! I LOVE my comfy pants. Wearing them to work is like a secret dress down day for myself; because I look fancy but am really quite comfortable.
