This is the first pattern I have worked from, my first time sewing with stretch, my first time to sew bands, pockets…., but everything was very straightforward - I like the video tutorial. I used a basic sewing machine for the whole dress on a regular stitch setting with a stretch needle. I’m 5’7” - I added the extra length to the skirt only (as opposed to dividing it between bodice and skirt as suggested on the pattern). Everything worked out great - I printed the pattern at a copy shop to save a lot of time. I need to work on my gathering technique as my machine doesn’t have very large size stitches but other than that it was very simple. I bought 2 metres of this Jocelyn Proust fabric to make the XS Size pattern. It’s 4 way stretch rayon/spandex, the weight is 240GSM and it’s perfect for this dress. There is enough left over to make something else 😊
I just finished my Monday morning dress. I made it in a lovely purple. Absolutely pleased with it. I lengthened the bodice 1 inch, not because I’m taller than 5’5” but because my torso is longer. I love it.
Super cute pattern. Easy sew. I hate gathering but this was easy. And its super cute one! Definitely making more.
Fits very well and instructions were good! Quick too!
Monday Morning Dress Pattern
This is hands down my favourite dress pattern. I've made several for myself now, and one for a friend who is pregnant, and she said it's the best dress she's ever worn as well! The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the end result is a wonderful dress that HAS POCKETS!
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!
Enjoyed making this. Fairly simple. A really flattering make. I found the bodice a little short, despite adding 2 inches on and didn’t love the gathering but I love the result and instructions were good. I’d definitely make it again.
I love how simple and easy this dress is to make. I made my first, now want to make more, some with short sleeves and some with long sleeves, for autumn /winter.
